April 2020 minutes and motions from:

  • June 2 (2020 Youth Leadership awards passed).
  • June 10 (motion to cancel to 2020 National Aeromodeling Championships, motion failed)
  • June 16 (motion to cancel portions of the Nats where the SIG has withdrawn its participation. Alternative events may be planned, but will not receive national recognition, motion passed).
  • July 11 (motion to sunset all previous taglines and officially adopt “Your Passion. Your Hobby. One Community.” as the official AMA tagline, motion passed.)

Minutes and motions passed by acclamation.

  1. MOTION I: Moved by Randy Cameron (EVP) and seconded by Gary Himes (VI) to accept and approve the 2019 Audit Report. Motion passed unanimously.
  2. MOTION II: Moved by Tim Jesky (VII) and seconded by Mark Radcliff (III) to host the 2023 F3C/N World Championship at the International Aeromodeling Center in Muncie IN.
  3. MOTION III: Moved by Randy Cameron (EVP) and seconded by Eric Williams (II) to table the previous motion until IRCHA SIG status is clarified and resolved. Motion passed. 12 yes; one abstention.
  4. MOTION IV: Moved by Lawrence Tougas (X) and seconded by Andy Argenio (I) to add surface vehicles such as park pilot automobiles and park pilot model watercraft to the park pilot policy and program as outlined in the amended declaration presented by the insurance committee. Motion passed unanimously.
  5. MOTION V: Moved by Mark Radcliff (III) and seconded by Phil Tallman (XI) to approve the Hall of Fame nominees as presented by the Hall of Fame committee. Motion passed unanimously.
  6. MOTION VI: Moved by Gary Himes (VI) and seconded by Lawrence Harville VIII) to accept the nomination committee’s slate of candidates. Motion passed unanimously.
  7. MOTION VII: Moved by Lawrence Tougas (X) and seconded by Andy Argenio (I) to allow district vice presidents the option of issuing standing directions to the Competition department to award Contest Director and/or Event Manager status to members who meet all requirements of the program and have received a passing score on the appropriate Contest Director or Event Manager test. The Competition department will notify the district vice presidents of any new Contest Directors or Event Managers. Motion passed unanimously.
  8. MOTION VIII: Moved by Tim Jesky (VII) to give the Distinguished Service Award. Gary Himes (District VI) to give the Superior Service Awards.
  9. MOTION IX: Moved by Tim Jesky (VII) and seconded by Mark Radcliff (III) to award the Fellowship Award.
